You must have heard that if people are mentally imbalanced, they become more imbalanced on the day of Amavasya. So, on that day, if you are mentally imbalanced, your brain will become more imbalanced. This happens because of the gravitational force of the moon on the earth. So, if you are looking for dissolution or liberation, Amavasya is the perfect day.

All these hundreds of thousands of generations that lived on this planet before us, have given us something or the other. The language that we speak, the place we live in, our behavior, our genes, our homely place, our buildings almost everything that we own today has come to us from our generations. So, this is considered to be a perfect time to offer prayers to the departed souls.
